On the first game Qatar lost against Ecuador. I'm very surprised that a lot of people expected something from this team because they really don't have the same level as in 2019 when they were champion. It looks like the end of Felix Sanchez came.
There is few reasons of Qatar who became weaker. First is that team has a lot of players of Al Sadd, the team decreased a lot recently, they don't have the same domination as before in domestic league and in AFC CL. Another reason is that in the midfield we have Karim Boudiaf who is a key player but he has 32 years now and he is a bit below his top level and the problem is that there is nobody to replace him. In front at least we have Akram Afif who is still their biggest talent.
Senegal on their side lost against Netherlands as I expect as I wrote a preview about this game. I was surprised about their performance, not having Mané didn't affect them that much, they showed good things in the midfield and against Qatar it will be perfect. Defensively they can count on Koulibaly who is very solid. About the GK for this game we might see Mendy on the bench because the coach wasn't 100% satisfied about his performance on the last game.
Senegal might have the potential to go through after what we saw on the first game but it's a must 3 points game. Qatar will also go all in for 3 points and will be even more in trouble defensively.
I expect 0-2 or 0-1.
