Barely six months into this tenure as head coach, Michael Carrick has Middlesbrough dreaming about a possible return back to the English Premier League. They would be facing West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon. I'm fascinated by the value of a Middlesbrough win but I'll be going with an away win or draw for two main reasons;

[1] Middlesbrough is in very good form and I think they can even pull off a victory at the Hawthorns on Saturday but since it is an away game I would like more safety on an option that still retains value. Middlesbrough is sitting fourth in the English championship and their run this year has been very good to watch. Out of nine matches played this year, Middlesbrough have lost only two times with seven wins in that spell. I'm more interested in their results over the last five games as they have achieved 15 out of 15 possible points since 28 January. West Bromwich Albion is still outside the qualification places and it would be difficult for them to get a spot ahead of the playoffs. They have managed only one win from their last five games and sit six points behind Middlesbrough. This makes me confident in an away win or draw.

[2] Another reason I'm backing Middlesbrough to get at least a draw is their formidable attack and defense coinciding with West Bromwich Albion's poor attack. Since Michael Carrick's appointment, Middlesbrough has scored in more than 90% of their games and a good number of those games saw them net at least twice. In the last four games, Middlesbrough has scored three goals in each game, despite facing teams with very good defenders. West Bromwich Albion has scored only four goals in five matches whilst keeping only one clean sheet. Chuba Akpom is a big reason for Middlesbrough's improvement in attack as he is their leading goalscorer with 19 goals. He might just decide this game against West Bromwich Albion and I think they should leave with a win or draw.

Middlesbrough have rediscovered their form and they are in the right path to a Premier League return, I'm predicting that they do well against a poor West Bromwich team. The away win or draw option suits me in this tie.
