The start of the Ykkönen season has not been easy, none of the favourites won on the first round's first 5 games. This is the one to end the Round 1, and I will go with the favourites!
KäPa are a small club in national level on the men's level, but they are the best club in the youth and they regularly beat the other giants HJK and Honka until under-17 year olds, and it is no wonder their team is mostly fielded with their own young players who are still on the way up, and several of them will make the professional international level. The club comes from the capital Helsinki, and there is huge competition inside the city.
MP on the other are a club from a provincial town of Mikkeli, the football is not number 1 sport in the town, the resources are limited and their youth are of not much use. It leads to the fact that the team is built with cheap or even free players from other cities who come to Mikkeli to study or work, and who want to go on with their hobby. It is not common to see players from Mikkeli to transfer to better clubs and have a career, the big exception for this season is HJK winger Topi Keskinen who saved MP several times last season.
