Visitors have a simple task here - not to lose. Draw 100% guarantees them a relegation play-off spot, but the schedule could not be any worse for them - a face-off against monsters Brugge, who have been sitting in 1st place for months and crushing opponents on a weekly basis without mercy.
There is small hope for Mouscron, though, that they get help from Leuven - Waasland game. In case visitors don’t win, even a loss vs. Brugge will mean Mouscron avoid direct relegation to Proximus league.
Lineups have now been released and Brugge is not planning to hold back - all the key figures are in the starting XI, including Bas Dost and captain Vanaken.
Mouscron is the worst team on the road in Belgian top flight this season with 3-5-8 balance. The last time they went to visit a serious opponent of Brugge caliber - it ended in a 0-4 blowout.
Although Brugge been occasionally struggling to show top motivation in recent weeks, their quality will prove too much for this desperate Mouscron. There will be great risk from visitors once they are 0-1 down and this should suit the home side perfectly for a potential big margin win.
