FC Koln vs Holstein Kiel
Koln was in big trouble but since the coaching change the team got way better and ended the season on a high note with 3 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss what was enough to end the season in 16tth place what gives the access to the playoffs against the 3rd place of the Bundesliga II. Even Koln only managed to win very late against Schalke, a win that was need it for them to end the season in 16th place the team was practically in control of the whole game and could have won by more but the important part was that they won the game and now they have this battle for surviving in the Bundesliga and playing at home 1st they know they need a good result here and I believe they will get it because of some tough circumstances on Kiel's side. For this game Koln are without Andersson and Rexhbecaj is doubtful.
Kiel only needed one win in their last 2 games to make the direct move to the Bundesliga but they lost both games by 2:3 against Karlsruher on the road and 2:3 at home against Darmstadt and because of that they will need to play the playoffs and in my opinion, they messed up but it's not really their fault in my opinion because of a Covid breakout in the team they had to recover all those games playing in May, for example, Koln played 3 games in May but Kiel played 7 games in May because of that and in the last 2 games we saw this team flat and they looked fatigue, they tried but things weren't flowing like it was usual with this team. For this game Kiel is without Arslan, Thesker and Kirkeskov. Meffert and Muhling are also suspended for the game.
Like I said, I think that Kiel missed their chance to go to the Bundesliga by losing their last 2 games, now it will be very difficult for them to face this Koln team who since the coaching change looked much better and of course the fatigue factor, Koln had one day more rest than Kiel and also like I said, Kiel played an impressive 7 games in May in compare to 3 of Koln and in the last 2 games we saw Kiel really flat most likely because of fatigue, especially in the 2nd half and that also combined with Meffert and Muhling who are suspended Kiel is in real trouble for this 1st leg, those are two key players for Kiel in mid-field. That said I think Koln has everything on their favour here to win this game and I think they could easily try to win this game by big numbers and try to resolve the issue in the 1st leg to go to Kiel with a big lead, but at least a win is expected but I also can see Koln winning here by 2 goals or more if they play well, overall I think Koln will win here by 2:1 or 3:1.
