Roberto Mancini is very wise to declare that Emerson is a completely different player in comparison to Spinazzola. He said that people shouldn’t expect the same kind of work from Emerson.
This is quite true because Spinazzola is the speediest player in Euro 2020, surpassing 38 k/h. Emerson is more technical and the concern is that he doesn’t play regularly at Chelsea.
But I think the true big problem here for Italy is the referee. Felix Brych is the referee that Italy hate a lot. He directed Italy vs Spain at qualification for the 2018 World Cup. The match ended 1-1 but Brych's decisions helped the Spanish. For example, the German referee did not extract a second yellow card against Diego Costa. When he is referee of Italian clubs’ matches, he likes extracting red cards, Cuadrado, Cristiano Ronaldo, etc.
Will he expulse some one from Italy? Will he use 1 or 2 yellow cards at the beginning of the match to let the Italians know that he was more severe than others? Spain might have a certain kind of advantage here.
