In my opinion Nurnberg have really good chances to make at least one point in today's match up.
Nurnberg coming to Paderborn with very good mental advantage as they won last 4 matches in a row against them. In previous season Nurnberg won here 2:0.
At the end of the last season only one place separated both teams, but I believe Nurnberg is able to finish current season on higher position in table than Paderborn. Nurnberg not changed their squad in comparison to the previous season. Coach Robert Klauss have time to work on team improvement. Second season with him on the bench should be better. On the other hand Paderborn is under big question mark. They have new coach and they changed their squad so much. They signed 11 new players and 14 players left the club. They lost key players like second-best player in previous season Chris Fuhrich or captain Sebastian Schonlau. Is hard to expect consistency from them, especially at the start of the season.
Nurnberg today have only one missing - winger Robin Hack is unavailable, but he is not the most important player in Nurnberg offensive formation. In first match he didn't played good at all. Paderborn is today without 4 defenders: Marcel Correia, Jesse Edem Tugbenyo, Frederic Ananou and Marcel Mehlem. In addition to that their experienced first goalkeeper Leopold Zingerle (135 matches for the club) is still unavailable.
That should be very problematic for hosts today. For me is very hard to image clean sheet for them today. Nurnberg in opening match had draw 0:0 on away against Aue, but they looked impressive upfront - 19 crosses and 19 shots on target - that was the best result from all teams in round 1. They were very unlucky to not score any goal there - expected goals scored 2.15. Nurnberg coach said: '': "I think that our presence in the pits was already quite good, but the decision-making was not yet optimal. We were able to work on things. We used video analyzes to show the guys when we made the wrong decisions.
