Jippo vs KPV
Jippo from the city of Joensuu welcome visitors from Kokkola at Mehtimäki tekonurmi for this Finnish Ykkönen match. Ykkönen is the second highest tier of Finnish football and a league I, as a Finn, have followed very closely for some thirty years already and been betting on it professionally for some twenty years. We have won two picks in a row betting against JIPPO and once again I recommend opposing them. They are overall very limited in terms of quality players and I would say Kakkonen, which is one level below Ykkönen would be the right league for them in the future.. JIPPO have dropped to second last place now in the standings but in my power ratings they are in fact the worst team in Ykkönen and I expect the current rock-bottom team Klubi 04 to take more points than JIPPO during the rest of the season and get the better or JIPPO. JIPPO once again defended well versus Vaasa last Sunday but some five minutes ago VPS managed to score and bring us yet another winner in Ykkönen! VPS were clearly the better team and definitely deserved to win. JIPPO have been very poor offensively for quite a long time already despite grabbing a few wins too. They create too little goal expectancy. For this match there are no reasons to believe they would be able to improve enough. A 0-0 or 1-1 draw would not be a major upset tho and overall Ykkönen is a more balanced league than Veikkausliiga or say Spanish La Liga but as my fans have seen lately there are a lot of value bets available!
We won a pick on KPV last week-end and again there is great value available at current odds! In this match defeated MP 1-0 and were the better team. Overall they are a much bigger and more successful club than JIPPO who were promoted from Kakkonen Group C to Ykkönen for this season. KPV are a traditional Veikkausliiga - the highest tier of Finnish football - club with much bigger player budget than JIPPO and also have a lot more quality players on the bench. JIPPO have never played in Veikkausliiga and I would be very surprised if they would in the future.. KPV are much better a team than the standings would suggest and this is the main reason for this pick. They played another good match a few days ago in Ekenäs as underdogs grabbing a point in a balanced match. KPV are very serious about making it to the Championship Group where the best six teams qualify at the end of the season. They have recently signed Christian Kouadio who is from Ivory Coast, a Nigerian striker Oke Akpoveta, who has played very well lately scoring several goals, and Danish midfielder Kristian Andersen. Indeed, things look a lot better now for KPV than during the very disappointing early season but they can still improve. A few weeks ago KPV were stunningly good in an away match in Helsinki versus Gnistan who are a good team in Ykkönen. KPV recorded some fifteen goal attempts whereas Gnistan only had a few scoring chances. On Saturday I once again expect KPV to defend well and JIPPO will not have many scoring chances.
To sum up I strongly believe KPV will continue climbing up the standings unless their level of football drops from previous matches and they have close to 60% chance of beating JIPPO. KPV -0.5 goals handicap is my pick for my fans.
