I’m expecting a tight game here.
Eibar is (along with Leganes and a few other teams) one of the main favorites to be promoted. They were relegated this season but made a team to be promoted again.
After 3 rounds they just achieved one win against Burgos (newly promoted team) 1-0, suffering a lot. In the previous rounds, they lost 0-1 and 2-0 against strong sides (Ponferradina, Huesca). Their performances weren’t bad (either perfect), but it seems that they are still adapting to a very difficult league like the Spanish 2nd division.
As coach said: “This will be a very equal game, Leganes is one of the best teams in the league”.
On the other hand, Leganes is one of the best teams in the league. They were promoted two seasons ago already, and the last one was already good as ended 3rd but weren’t able to achieve the promotion.
Leganes has already experience in this league, but after 3 rounds they are in relegation with just 1 point. I can’t really see them with 1 point after 4 rounds, I’m sure they will be extra motivated today to at least draw. The squad and club can’t afford another defeat.
So far they lost against two newly promoted sides (Ibiza, Real Sociedad B) and drew against another newly promoted team (Burgos). But they outplayed them and deserved a better result.
Coach said that some players weren’t at their best level as they were thinking in the transfer market (already finished), so now everybody is at 100% and thinking in the club.
The level of both squads is almost the same, and surely the two teams will be in the promotion zone. Furthermore, they are happy playing the same kind of match: without too many chances and with a lot of intensity. Draw is very possible here, but due to the results so far, I think that Leganes will have even more motivation to achieve some point here.
