In their most recent match last week, however, they were pretty disappointing losing to a mediocre team West Ham at home. Their offense was somehow "off" in that much but can surely improve! It was a pretty balanced match - the hosts had 15 scoring attempts whereas the visitors had 16. West Ham created clearly more in goal expectancy though. I believe this lame performance affects the odds here too much. We should not react too much on one match. Today's opponent is a lot worse than West Ham..
Indeed, Watford are simply a bad team. I rate them as the second worst team in this league - only Norwich are worse and they have had some luck to score seven points so far. They played a good match in their season opener beating Aston Villa at home 3-2 but overall they have not convinced me at all. Their defense is weak and they have allowed a lot of goals. Traditionally for Watford they have already switched manager - Ranieri is the new manager but the team just lacks quality and I suspect he will not be able to save Watford from relegation. Their other win this season came versus miserable Norwich - I would not give them too much credit for that.. They were totally crushed by Liverpool last week at home in their first match under Ranieri. Of course Liverpool are a top team but Watford had no chance at all. The visitors had close to 80% ball possession and won 5-0! Before this Watford were beaten by Leeds. Another disappointing performance.
To sum up, Everton are big favorites today - Everton -0.5 goals handicap is my pick for my fans.
