Both teams are on a bad run but the hosts should be able to win here.
Sporting is a club with experience whose target should be in the playoff zone. They started the season well but suffered a lot of injuries and their last performances were awful. They are slowly recovering some key players like Aitor Garcia or , but still have a few missings in attack (topscorer Djurdjevic, offensive midfielder Pablo Perez and long term injury Campuzano). But the squad is ok for today and we will see almost the best one.
According to the rumours, today it’s a must win for the coach. The club made awful performances in the last 3 matches, totally unacceptable for them, so the coach needs to achieve a victory and good football for his team if he doesn want to be sacked. He tried changing the system against Ponferradina last weekend, where they lost 4:1.
So today will be back to the usual system, just need to motivate players to play as good as they did in the beginning of the season. Undoubtedly, this team has potential to be at the top and to be a solid home team, as they did. They started the season with 5 home wins in a row, and need to get back to that.
Fuenlabrada is the main reason for this pick. They have a weak squad, will fight to avoid relegation. Are struggling a lot this season, where they only achieved 3 victories after 17 matches played (two at home and one against the bottom and worst team of the league).
They have a huge lack of goals, only managing to score 13 goals so far (the lower of the league) and their topscorer is the experienced midfielder Pedro Leon. They sold the two main strikers in the summer and the replacements for this season are not good enough.
For today they only have 13 professional players available, the list of absences is up to 9 between injuries and suspensions. Pol Valentín, Konaté, Cheick, Jano Velasco, Kante, Iban Salvador, Pedro León, Mbia e Iribas. Remember that Pedro Leon (Their star and best player) is the topscorer, with 5 goals of the 13 scored by the team in total.
They also signed this week a player who had no club since summer and due to the injury crisis, he will already have some minutes (he will have lack of form). Also called 5 players from second team to complete the squad.
The recent results of Fuenlabrada are terrible too (winless in the last 8 games, 4 defeats in last 6 games) but I see Sporting with much more quality and potential to achieve the victory here. Hosts have a great chance to get the three points and recover confidence: at home against a weak rival who will be without half of the team.
