In my opinion Bochum have really good chances to make at least one point in today's match up.
In overall Arminia Bielefeld don't have a good record against Bochum as they recorded only 18 wins in 59 matches against them.
Currently both clubs going in totally different direction. Bochum after poor start of the season, now is in great form. For the first time in over decade they are in top half of the table of Bundesliga. On the other hand Arminia for sure will spend winter in relegation zone. They made only 10 points in 15 matches and they are already 7 points behind safe place.
Arminia is in poor form since a while. Together with last season, they won only 3 of last 21 league matches. They won against Schalke (now in second league) and twice against Stuttgart (they are in relegation zone at the moment). Arminia looks very poor at home - they failed to win in all 8 home matches and have poor 6:13 goals balance. For me is very interesting how long club owners will trust for coach Frank Kramer. In last round they lost in very bad style against poor Hertha (only 2 points above relegation zone). Arminia lost there 0:2 and that was fully deserved loss: Hertha had 20 shots, 2.12 expected goals scored and 61% ball possession, Arminia only 9 shots, 0.54 expected goals scored and only 39% ball possession. Confidence in team must be on very low level.
Bochum is in excellent form since middle of October. They played 10 matches in all competitions and recorded only 2 losses, against Leverkusen & Gladbach - much stronger teams than Arminia (twice on away). They made 16 points from 24 possible in last 8 rounds! Thomas Reis doing really good job. Many players progressing under his wing. Atmosphere in team must be great. In last round they recorded big draw 1:1 at home against strong Borussia Dortmund. Defensive formation looked great and that may be key factor today as well.
Bochum kept clean sheet 5 times in current season, any team in whole Bundesliga don't have more at the moment. Goalkeeper Riemann is second-best in league saves department (74.7%). Bochum defenders like Masovic and Soares are in great form as well. I see problems with goalscoring for hosts today as they are the worst offensive team in whole league - they scored only 10 goals in 15 matches!
Arminia conceded at least one goal in 10 of last 11 matches in all competitions. They kept clean sheet only against poor Stuttgart. Today they will play without their key left defender Laursen (2 goals in 13 matches). On the other hand Bochum don' t have big problems with goalscoring-they scored at least one goal in 9 of last 10 matches (scored more than one goal in 3 of last 5 matches). Striker Polter is in superb form-he scored 4 goals in last 3 matches. They failed to score only against strong Leverkusen on away.
Bochum coming for this match with the strongest possible line up and in those circumstances I don't see them as a underdog here.
