Santa Clara vs Sporting CP
Santa Clara has having a really good season and are sitting in 6th place, to be fair it's not a big surprise to see them here because they do have a good team for this league and their chances to fight for the European Spots is real even they are coming of a 0:2 road loss to their main rival Guimaraes, that result was a bit unlucky for them because they played well enough to not lose that game. At home Santa Clara has been very strong too with 8 wins, 2 draws and 4 losses and 14:12 in goals, however, they lost all their tough games at home still, 0:2 against Porto, 0:2 against Braga and 0:1 against Benfica and that game could have easily ended in 0:2, 0:3 too and now they will receive the Champion who really needs the win here, so another game where Santa Clara will have a hard time to get something.
For this game Santa Clara is without Wendell and Pacheco. Firmino is suspended.
Sporting are current in 2nd place, 2 points behind Benfica. Crazy season for Sporting this year, with Ruben Amorim they looked like a sure Champion again and to be honest they would have been for sure, they had a huge lead over Benfica before their Coach left and than the problems surged, tons of injuries and new coaches that costed them a lot of points and when this Coach came they lost early some important points too but after that Sporting kinda started to look way better and was on a solid 6 game win streak and that includes 4 league games they won by 2 or more goals and defended their lead against Benfica till last week where they draw 1:1 at home against Braga in a very unlucky result, they dominated the whole game but missed key scoring chances for the 2:0, they had a couple of them and than late in the game out of nowhere they suffered the 1:1 and lost the lead to Benfica for the first time in the season, now they can't afford to lose more points if they wanna become Champion once again.
For this game Sporting is without Bragança, Morita, Santos and Simoes.
I like Santa Clara team but against the great teams they struggle, even at home and I expect the same to happen here, if this game would have been when Sporting was struggling I would give them some chances here but lately Sporting has been looking much better, scoring a lot of goals and having a lot of scoring chances once again and that 1:1 draw against Braga was very unlucky like I said and for Sporting it's super important to not let Benfica get a bigger lead, -2 points they still only depend on themselves since they have still to face Benfica this season so for Sporting only the win matter here and I believe they will get it done, they also had a big news this week, Pote is back in the squad a very important player for them.
