In my opinion Porto have really good chances to make 3 points in today's match up.
Odds on Porto slashed down by 0.40 from opening odds on big Asian markets with the highest possible limits and I fully agree with this trend.
Porto have huge mental advantage before today's match. Both teams played each other at this stadium exactly one week ago and Porto completely trashed Benfica 3:0. In addition to that Porto didn't lost against Benfica in 7 consecutive matches.
Atmosphere in Benfica after last loss were awful. There was really bad emotions between coach Jorge Jesus and experienced player Pizzi. Coach sent him to reserve team and almost everyone in the team not agreed with this decision. Club legend and president Rui Costa had meeting with Jorge Jesus and two days ago decided to release him from the club. Is very tricky situation and looks like team wasn't focused in last days on this match.
On the other hand Porto flying sky-high after last win and they wants to go with momentum today. They have all required tools to do it. They have only one new absence - striker Evanilson. Still Porto have superb options upfront, their best striker and best player in the team Diaz (12 goals and 3 assists in 15 matches) will start in first squad today. Porto scored at least one goal in 24 of last 26 matches, they failed to do it only against top teams in Champions League (Liverpool and Atletico). They should be able to continue this streak today as well.
Especially with Benfica problems. Benfica coming for this match without their two key defenders Verissimo and Otamendi. Key left back Grimaldo is unavailable as well. In addition to that their best striker Nunez (13 goals and 2 assists in 13 matches) will not play today . It's a huge blow for the team and should have very bad impact on their performance today. Porto conceded only 8 goals in league so far and without Nunez Benfica should have big problems with goalscoring.
Porto at home, front of big and loud crowd should enjoy to play against depleted Benfica defensive formation. Porto is full of confidence and atmosphere in the team is very good. Benfica may look toothless without Nunez. In these circumstances I see great chances for hosts .
