China U23 got a draw 0-0 in the opening game against Iraq U23. It was a very good result considering that Iraqi side is a stronger team on paper.
The team had a slight advantage in the 1st half, but were pressured by their opponents in the final 20 minutes, with their defense gradually retreating. Gk Li Hao made several crucial saves and the defense were very strong but the attack failed to be accomplished with only 1 shot on target. Overall performance were good for an outsider and with a little more effort they could even win it.
Australia U23 in other hand managed to win against Thailand U23 2-1. However thai side were playing with 10 mens from the very early minutes. Even so, Australia U23's attack remained sluggish, lacking sharpness in goal. Their defense were far from perfect,conceding many attacks.
The weather in Saudi Arabia will be very hot today, which can affect in players fatigue or stamina. However I don't expect Australia pushing too much,maybe they will be happy with just a minimal effort. While for China I expect to continue their defensive tactics and why not get surprisly a point.
