VfB Stuttgart VS 1. FC Union Berlin
Stuttgart is having a really nice season and if they would have having better luck with injuries they would have been even better but the winter break came at a nice moment for them even they were having good performances before that like the 4:0 win over Bremen and the 0:0 draw at home against Hoffenheim in a game they should have won. After the break they smashed Leverkusen on the road by 4:1 and beat Frankfurt 3:2 and showing really good football like always under their coach Sebatian Hoeness. At home Stuttgart has been almost perfect with 6 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss, the draw was that game against Hoffenheim they should have won and the loss was against powerhouse Bayern Munchen, besides that they have beaten everyone at home.
For this game Stuttgart is without Darvich, Jovanovic, Tomas and Zagadou.
Union Berlin is also having a decent season so far, 9th place with 6 wins, 5 draws and 6 losses. Before the break they were coming of some solid wins over Koln and Leipzig and after the break they managed two draws against Mainz at home and Augsburg on the road and now they will have a big task on the road against this strong Stuttgart side. Personally I like this Union Berlin team but they are a team with a lot of up's and down's performances what makes them hard to read but on the road when facing the better teams they usually struggle and don't perform at the level like they do at home against those type of teams.
For this game Union Berlin is without Rothe, Skov and Kohn who is suspended for the game.
Stuttgart attack has been clicking since the winter break, scoring 7 goals in two games and to be fair it could have been even more if they for example forced the issue against Leverkusen in the 2nd half or if they would have been more effective with their chances against Frankfurt, they have been playing at a very strong pace and with nice combinations and especially Leweling and Undav have been a terror for their opposing teams and today at home and if they play at the level they have been showing in these two games I think they should get here another win against Union Berlin and move up to the 3rd place.
