Real Madrid put up and amazingly good performance in their most recent match in LaLiga completely crushing Real Sociedad 4-1 at home! We must remember that Real Sociedad are a very good team and are currently in the 5th place in my power ratings that illustrate the teams’ raw class. The team normally defends very well, and have allowed just 29 goals so far in this league. For example Atletico Madrid have allowed 36 goals.. Indeed, Real Madrid’s attack has been on fire this season after a few less impressive season overall and especially offensively.. The legendary Italian manager, Carlo Ancelotti, seems to be the right man to lead one of the biggest clubs on the planet. However, I must say that taking the events on the pitch into account the 4-1 final score was a bit too clear.. The expected goals statistic was 2.54 – 0.61.
Real Madrid lead LaLiga with 63 points in the bank and are huge favorites to lift the trophy in May. They have been slightly lucky in terms of expected points but still the betting market, quite surprisingly, does not seem to respect them enough at the moment. However, they still need points to secure the championship as Sevilla trail them by only 7 points.. Their goal difference is excellent 56:21. They have done well in the Champions League as well and beat the mighty PSG last week in the Champions League Play offs 3-1 at home advancing to the next round. They recorded over 20 scoring attempts in this battle and deserved the win against the strong opponent with Messi, Neymar and Mbappe! Especially the veteran was on fire and seems to be determined with his long-term team this spring. Real had a little slow start to match but improved hugely for the second half scoring 3 goals. The win must be a huge boost for the team. I believe they do not have to even be at their best today against weak Mallorca to win. The hosts have lost 4 of their latest matches and have looked very vulnerable in defense. It is hard to say anything positive about them at the moment. They also do not have the best home crowd and the home advantage is below average here. I do not think they have tools to stop Real’s stars here and even a clear away win would not surprise me at all!
