Everton host Newcastle for this English Premier League clash at Goodison Park in Liverpool. This is the best league in the world, and often offers high-quality entertainment for football fans. However, this match will probably not be a particularly fun match to watch,. I expect a more low-scoring match than the betting market and many football analysts online. This increases the probability of a draw and my fans and myself winning the bet. Indeed, Everton’s offensive game has been almost non-existent lately and they have failed to score a goal in 4 of their most recent matches in this league and have lost them all! Newcastle, on the other hand, have shown solid defensing recently. On the 3rd of this month Everton did beat Boreham Wood 2-0 as heavy favorites in FA Cup, as very heavy favorites but let’s remember that the visitors play in the National League – the fifth highest level of English football.. Not a performance to get excited about!
The osts' new manager Frank Lampard does not seem to have the tools or leadership skills to improve his team’s performances.. Many people consider him as a pretty promising manager, but I’m not convinced.. He did not do that well in Chelsea either, and was eventually replaced by Thomas Tuchel. On paper Everton are surely better than the 17th position would indicate but the is something wrong with the team, and the questionable financial situation of course does not help the overall atmosphere arounf the club.. This is their position in the standings is the same as my power rating that illustrate the teams’ raw class. Everton created only 0.38 in expected goals in their most recent match against Wolverhampton. A pathetic number, especially at home! They lacked any creativity and structure in offense and the players looked frustrated. Ten days ago they were totally crushed by Tottenham, who are even a top-4 team, 5-0 in London, and recorded a goal expectancy of 0.19 – Tottenham’s number was 3.42! Newcastle, on the other hand, have been in fine form for a few months already losing just one of their latest 10 matches in this league! This happened last week against a top-3 team Chelsea away from home and Chelsea were the better team but Newcastle defended well. Chelsea only recorded 1.04 in expected goals. A positive performance from the visitors overall. Newcastle are clearly the better team of this two at the moment, and I see them as slight favorites. They most certainly have very good chance to avoid defeat here!
